What people notice first
People notice this when the room is otherwise clean and the glass is still freckled, or when a new window is framed by yellow tape glue. Silicone smears on a tray are the bathroom version. A wall that needs repainting is not this service.
Prep and after
Before we arrive, and the day after
Point out coated glass and new floors before we start. Do not pick at tape with a knife. After the visit, leave any new silicone to cure. Marks that failed the patch test stay, and we would rather leave them than etch the surface.
How long it should last
Spots removed on glass and metal should stay gone. They return only if someone paints again. Adhesive that has etched a coating, and paint that has soaked into bare timber, will not look factory-new. We say that at the test, not after an hour of scrubbing.
FAQ
Questions about this visit
Can you remove emulsion flicks from glass?
Yes, in most cases, with a test first. A few spots are often included in a window or sparkle visit. A pane peppered with paint is this service, priced for the time.
Will you scrape new glass?
Only when we know it is not a soft or coated surface. If there is any doubt, we do not blade it. A scratch costs more than a remaining spot.
Can you remove silicone smears without damaging the seal?
Smears on the tray or tile can be cleaned. The intact bead that is keeping water in is left. Replacing a failed bead is a reseal, which we do not do.
What about sticker glue on a new oven?
Retail stickers and film glue are normal on a handover or kitchen clean. Glue that has baked hard is tested. If it will not shift without marking steel, we stop.
Is this included in every builders clean?
Light spots usually are. A house with tape on every frame is extra time, so it is quoted on its own or as a clear line in the full clean. Ask for that on the form.
